A Productive Morning Routine

by Becca Scanlon 13 Feb 2025 2 Comments

Hello Queens & Kings :)

It is essential to have a morning routine as this sets the tone for the day. We feel fresh and more productive. It is your ‘me’ time where you develop & discover more about yourself due to fewer distractions.

We should do our morning routine before touching our phones. We have been programmed to touch our phones first thing in the morning, this decreases brain productivity.

Imagine going onto social media & seeing a post that is negative or seeing a negative message, you would probably react to this in a negative manner which could ruin your entire morning or even day.

However, if you check your phone after doing your morning routine, you will feel less likely to react or respond to anything that makes you feel less than good. You will be in a state of positivity, flowing with good energy.

Here are some things you could include in your morning routine & why:

1. Prayer

Your morning routine should begin with a prayer or simply giving thanks to who / what you believe in. You want to express how thankful you are for a new day and to simply be alive. Remember many people did not wake up today.

2. Drink a glass of spring water

You should drink a glass of spring water before having something to eat, to hydrate yourself. Drinking water flushes out any toxins from your body and reduces headaches. You become more alert. It fuels your brain.

3. Eat fruit/make a smoothie

Natural sugars flow into your bloodstream and give you a steady source of energy. Our body goes through the most intense period of detox between 7-11 am. You will feel full and satisfied when eating fruit in the morning.

4. Read a book and listening to a podcast

The first thing you feed your mind must be positive & influential. You must seek new knowledge every day, there is always more to learn. Taking notes is important because more information is stored and easier to retain.

5. Write your goals

Writing out your goals is important because it helps you get clear on what you want, you need a sense of direction, helps you stay motivated and you can visualise what you want in life.

6. Meditation

Meditating in the morning is great because it keeps you calm and collected. There are several types of meditation you can do, find the one that is best for you, but just take out 10-15 minutes in the morning to be present in the moment.

7. Gratitude

Expressing gratitude is the source of all good things. Write down & say what you are grateful for currently you will not get blessed with more if you are not grateful for what you currently have. Also, do the same with what you will be grateful for in the future. Do this in affirmation form (I am so happy & grateful now that). Send a message of gratitude to loved ones after you have finished your morning routine.

8. Journal

Journalling is a great way to keep track of what is going on in your life. You can write down your wishes, how you feel & events that have occurred or eventful things that have happened in your day. Make sure to write the date at the top of the page & write on white paper with blue ink.

9. Get active

You could also work on your physical. Doing work out, taking a walk in the park, doing yoga or going to the gym will improve performance & mood throughout the day. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins that regulate your mood and feel-good chemicals, raising your vibration.

Takeaway:

- With your morning routine, you can pick & choose what to include. You could set alarms with the times & order according to your preference.

- Switch your order up every so often to prevent boredom.

 - Start on your first day with 10 minutes & build it up.

- A good morning routine is anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Give everything on the list a try and see how you get on. Try your morning routine today & remember consistency is where you will see results :)

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
